HILLSBORO — Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill is in the St. Louis area for another town hall meeting on health care reform.

McCaskill had planned two town hall meetings on Tuesday, in University City in the morning and in Hillsboro in the afternoon. The event at University City High School was called off by the school district over safety concerns.

U.S. Rep. Russ Carnahan, a Democrat from St. Louis, hosted a health care forum last week that resulted in a melee with six arrests.

McCaskill hosted forums on Monday in the Missouri Bootheel. The Kennett event was marked by polite dialogue. The mood at Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff was far different. The loudest applause came when an audience member called President Obama a socialist.
