LETTER: Government insults veterans, dissenters

Wednesday, August 19, 2009 | 10:35 a.m. CDT

In April of this year, the Department of Homeland Security had a report that claimed, "Veterans are potential domestic terrorists." I am a Vietnam veteran. Why is my government insulting me like this?

Now I am hearing that people who oppose the health care plan are un-American. I am an American. I think the health care plan has a lot of flaws. Again, why is my government insulting me like this?

Is it because I have the audacity to think they don't have all the answers and that I think they should leave some of the decision making to me?

Liberals can dish it out but never seem to have the capacity to take it, thereby exhibiting the hypocrisy they always lament in conservatives.

Health Care/General
Here are two warnings: beware the backlash away from Democrats; pray the Republicans can find someone conservative enough to lead.
Lastly, don’t be a hypocrite if you are dissatisfied with a Democratic controlled congress by considering business as usual and supporting Democrats on the local level. Always do things decently and orderly to remove attempts at destroying your credibility without ever responding to your concerns!
