Columbia police seeking suspects in Best Western robbery

COLUMBIA — Police are investigating a robbery that took place at the Columbia Best Western early Wednesday morning.

Myrtle and Donald Brown, who were visiting from Granite City, Ill., were transporting items from their car to the hotel when they were approached by two men, Detective Jeff Westbrook of the Columbia Police Department said.

One of the men grabbed Brown's purse and knocked her down.

Brown suffered scrapes and bruises in her fall. The Browns' daughter, also named Myrtle, witnessed the attack.
