Kroger recalls 'Super Kids' bread

Friday, August 21, 2009 | 1:04 p.m. CDT

CINCINNATI — The Kroger Co. grocery chain is recalling a store-brand bread because it could contain milk ingredients not listed on the label.

The Cincinnati-based company says customers who bought Super Kids Enriched White Sandwich Bread sold in 13 states should return it for a refund or replacement.

The company says the bread could be a threat to people with milk allergies. Kroger says there is no safety issue for other consumers.

States affected are Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
