Two charged in death of St. Joseph businessman

ST. JOSEPH — Two men have been charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of businessman Larry Norris.

Buchanan County Prosecuting Attorney Dwight Scroggins announced Fridaythat he filed murder charges against 36-year-old Michael Wayne Limley and 35-year-old Christopher William Lee Helton.

The St. Joseph News-Press reports that the men are charged with second-degree murder committed during the commission of the felony of attempted first-degree robbery.

The charge carries a maximum sentence of 10-30 years or life in prison.

The two defendants remain in jail after bond was denied. They are scheduled to be arraigned by video on Tuesday.
