Freshman Stuart Ballingall earned medalist honors to help the Missouri men’s golf team break a four-year winless streak Monday by winning the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate tournament in Verona, N.Y.

Ballingall shot a 1-under-par 215 to finish atop the individual standings. He was the only golfer to finish under par. Three of the top- six individual scores in the tournament belonged to Missouri.

The Tigers finished the three-day competition with a 21-over-par 885. The University of Richmond earned second-place, 12 shots behind Missouri.

Freshman Jace Long (219) was fourth, and sophomore Chris Johnson (222) was sixth. The win was the first for Missouri since the fall season in 2005.
