CAPE GIRARDEAU — A southeast Missouri naval recruiter faces statutory rape charges for allegedly having sex with a high school student who was a potential recruit.

The Southeast Missourian reports that 35-year-old Robbie Millsaps of Cape Girardeau is charged with one count of second-degree statutory sodomy.

The teenager told authorities she had expressed interest in joining the Navy. Millsaps met with her and gave her a test. The teen says he then convinced her to get together with him. The victim told authorities the two drank alcohol and had sex at Millsaps' home.

Millsaps did not have a listed telephone number and could not be reached for comment.
