COLUMBIA — A robbery occurred sometime before 1 p.m. Wednesday on the 1500 block of Boyd Lane.

Columbia Police Officer Jason McClintic said the victim of the crime was asked by a close friend to come to 1515 Boyd Lane to meet a resident living there.

After arriving, a male voice asked the victim to come to the top of the stairs and then used the threat of a gun to rob the victim of an undisclosed amount of money, McClintic said.

According to McClintic, the perpetrator then fled through the west exit of the residence. No one was injured during the incident.

The perpetrator was described as a black male approximately 25 years old.

Columbia police were in the process of investigating the inside of the residence Wednesday afternoon and were trying to locate the owners of the building.
