UNION — An eastern Missouri teenager has died in a four-wheeler accident in southwestern Franklin County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol identified the teen as 14-year-old Colton Mauntel of Union.

The patrol says the teen was driving the four-wheel, all-terrain vehicle Saturday afternoon when he failed to negotiate a curve and struck a guide wire and then a utility pole. Colton was thrown from the vehicle.
