Missouri arts, cultural groups generate over $1 billion

JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri is promoting a new survey showing that nonprofit arts and cultural groups generate more than $1 billion in economic activity.

The survey was commissioned by the Missouri Arts Council and included 420 arts and cultural organizations in the state. It found that they supported 5,320 full-time jobs and generated $9.3 million in state and local tax revenues.

The survey was conducted by the group Americans for the Arts.
