JEFFERSON CITY — Jefferson City police say a couple who were shot to death at the woman's apartment were trying to reconcile a broken marriage.

David R. Hosier is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in Monday's killings of 45-year-old Angela Gilpin of Jefferson City and 61-year-old Rodney Gilpin of Hartsburg. The 54-year-old suspect remains in custody in Oklahoma, where he was arrested about seven hours after the shootings.

Jefferson City Police Capt. Michael Smith told the Columbia Daily Tribune the Gilpins were separated but were trying to mend their marriage.

Hosier lived near Angela Gilpin in another apartment building. Court documents show Angela Gilpin had a romantic relationship with Hosier during her separation but had been trying to break it off.
