JOPLIN — Prosecutors have charged a Noel man with involuntary manslaughter after a car accident that killed a Joplin woman.

KZRG in Joplin reports that Francisco Espinoza, 22, is also charged with drunken driving and driving without a license.

Police said officers began pursuing Espinoza on Sunday after he failed to stop at a red light. Eventually, the vehicle went airborne over railroad tracks, hit a ditch and caught fire.

A passenger, Anita Lizotte, 46, died in the accident.
