Becky Doisy disappeared in 1976, and her body was never found.

ATLANTA — A man accused of killing a former MU student 33 years ago has been returned to Missouri.

Johnny Wright, 65, was transferred this week to the Boone County Jail from the Gwinnett County jail, where he's been since Sept. 23.

He faces a murder charge in the death of 23-year-old Rebecca Doisy, who disappeared in August 1976. His bond was set at $100,000.

The 23-year-old woman was a poet and waitress at a popular Columbia diner before she disappeared in August 1976. Her body has never been found.

He was detained in suburban Atlanta after seeking a criminal background check for a job application. The check revealed a warrant in the Doisy case issued in 1985.
