Missouri cross country teams do well at weekend event

The Missouri cross country team had a strong showing Saturday at the Chile Pepper Festival hosted by Arkansas. The women's team finished fourth out of 34 teams posting 165 points, while the men's team finished seventh out of 29 teams with 223 points.

Missouri freshman Kaitie Vanatta was 11th in the 6K women's race in 21:18.78. Junior Dan Quigley was the Tigers' top runner in the 8K men's race in 31:04.29.

The Tigers' next event will be the Big 12 Confernece Cross Country Championships which they will host Oct. 31 at AL Gustin Golf Course.
