MACON — Fire officials say a house fire early Friday in Macon killed one person who lived at the home.

The Macon Fire Department says firefighters were called to the scene early Friday. They were told a person might be inside the home but could not attempt a rescue because of heavy fire.

KXEO reports that when firefighters got control of the fire they found one person dead inside the home. The victim's name has not been released. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
