ST. MARTINS — The search continues in mid-Missouri for a 9-year-old girl who has been missing since she started walking home from a friend's house.

Cole County Sheriff Greg White said Friday that about 70 investigators are checking leads and another 70 people are scouring woody, uneven terrain west of Jefferson City. White says he's not sure if Elizabeth Olten is still in the area.

Olten left a nearby friend's house Wednesday night. She has brown hair and is 5-feet, 2-inches tall. She was wearing a pink scarf and shirt with butterflies, blue jeans and white shoes.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol hopes clouds will break up enough Friday to use a helicopter with thermal imaging radar.

This is just aweful....especially since we all lost the 7 year old from Florida. Tragic and sad...I hope they find Elizabeth soon!
