INDEPENDENCE — Independence Police say a 16-year-old girl who had not been seen since Wednesday morning has been found in St. Joseph.

An Amber Alert that had been issued for Makenzie R. Green has been canceled.

The alert was issued when Green went missing after being seen dropping off a friend at school in Grain Valley at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. Her car was later found abandoned.

Police said the family was concerned because Green had recently broken up with a boyfriend, who had made threats against her and her family.

She was with the ex-boyfriend in St. Joseph when she was located early Thursday. Police released few other details.
