Columbia College volleyball team wins opening tournament matches

The Columbia College volleyball team defeated Indiana Wesleyan University and Taylor University in its first two matches of the Taylor University Tournament Friday in Upland, Ind.

The Cougars swept Wesleyan 3-0 before edging the tournament hosts in five sets. Columbia College won the first two games against Taylor 28-26 and 25-19, lost the following two 25-16 and 25-21, then finally won the deciding set 15-11.

The Cougars improved to 30-2. They continue tournament play Saturday at 11 a.m. against Trinity Christian University.
