COLUMBIA — Firefighters and police responded to a residential fire Wednesday in the 1800 block of Boris Drive that resulted in damage to the garage, attic and front of the house, according to the Boone County Fire Protection District.

Firefighters with the Fire District were dispatched at 8:17 a.m. after a neighbor reported the incident.

The fire began in the garage and spread to the front of the garage, front eave of the house, attic and roof. Firefighters extinguished the fire within 15 minutes of their arrival, said Division Chief Gale Blomenkamp of the Fire District.

There were no reported injuries, and firefighters were still working Monday morning to determine the cause of the fire.
