Columbia College volleyball team advances to AMC finals

With a sweep of Missouri Baptist on Thursday, Columbia College advances to the finals of the AMC Volleyball Tournament

COLUMBIA — Columbia College defeated Missouri Baptist 25-15, 25-17 and 25-20 in the semifinals of the American Midwest Conference Volleyball Tournament on Thursday night at Southwell Conference. The No. 7 Cougars improved at 36-2 overall and 16-0 in AMC play with the win.

Senior Cate Eckhardt led the Cougars with 17 kills and nine digs.

Columbia College advances to a match against William Woods in an attempt to win its 16th conference tournament championship on Saturday in Columbia. William Woods swept Williams Baptist in the other semifinal match on Thursday. The Cougars swept William Woods both times the teams faced each other earlier in the season.
