Columbia College men's soccer receives NAIA honors

 COLUMBIA - Four members of Columbia College men’s soccer team received 2009 NAIA soccer All-American and Scholar Athlete honors.

Ilya Grin, a senior, was named an NAIA All-American Scholar Athlete.  Scholar athletes must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. 

Defender Nikola Velickovic who is in his first year at Columbia College, was named first team all-conference and American Midwest Conference Co-Freshman of the Year.  

Ken Searles, also a newcomer to Columbia College and the team’s goalkeeper earned AMC Newcomer of the Year and first team honors. 

Lloyd Jacobs, senior captain, was named a first team all-conference midfielder for the Cougars.
