The Hickman girls basketball team lost 39-31 to Pembroke Hill on Thursday at the Blue Springs tournament, dropping the Kewpies to 2-2.

Hickman started cold and Pembroke Hill led 15-0 after the first quarter. The Kewpies slowly picked up the pace, though, and after trailing 18-8 at half came within a basket of tying late in the second half, but could not complete the rally.

Claire Ortbals (14 points) and Aqua Corpening (10 points) led Hickman. Lee Winter (12 points) and Jackie Robinson (11 points) led Pembroke Hill.

Hickman plays the winner of a game between St. Teresa's and Metro Academy in their next tournament game on Friday.
