NIXA — A Nixa woman has been sentenced to 17 ½ years in prison and lifetime supervision for receiving and distributing child pornography.

Amy Vogt was sentenced Thursday in federal court. After serving her prison term, with no possibility of parole, the 35-year-old Vogt will be on supervised release for the rest of her life.

The U.S. Attorney said federal investigators found 139 images of child pornography on a computer seized from Vogt's home. Prosecutors said they also found numerous instant message sessions that referred to sexual acts Vogt perpetrated against a juvenile.

The Springfield News-Leader reported that Vogt pleaded guilty in September to the federal charges of distributing and possessing child pornography. She is also charged in Christian County with first-degree child molestation.
