Osage County priest on leave during investigation

BOONVILLE — The Diocese of Jefferson City has placed a priest on leave while it investigates allegations of what it calls inappropriate electronic communication with a minor five years ago.

Bishop John Gaydos read a statement about the investigation involving The Rev. Thomas Seifner at weekend Masses at Loose Creek and Bonnots Mill. A letter from Gaydos also was read at Pilot Grove.

The Boonville Daily News reports that Seifner was removed Dec. 18 from his positions as pastor of Immaculate Conception Church in Loose Creek and St. Louis Church in Bonnots Mill. Both of the churches are in Osage County.

The Diocesan Review Board is investigating the claim. Osage County Prosecutor Amanda Grellner says her office has not been contacted about the case.

I may be reading this wrong, but I love how the clergy reward a possible sex crime by putting it's workers on a 'vacation', while being investigated.
It's almost the same thing when one of their priests are accoused of sexually molesting young boys and then the parents of those boys are paid 'hush money' to not say anything to the media. I know my spelling is not the greatest here. But you see my point!

I see your point very well. This has been going on way too long.I know alot of people will say my point is wrong but i also blame the people that go to a church that does this. They keep giving them money.Oh you might say its not my priest fault,he wasn't involved.Yes he his & so are you.One of these days god will ask you Why did you keep supporting the church. If one church of that religion is involved then all of them of that religion are involved. If anybody doesn't agree with me i don't care what you think.
