COLUMBIA – A high-speed chase northbound on U.S. 63 ended in a Jefferson City man's arrest early Thursday morning, police said.

The Ford Mustang was spotted going 125 miles per hour on U.S. 63 by a police officer positioned at Peterson Lane, said Ashland Police Chief Anthony P. Consiglio. After the driver did not pull over for the speeding violation, Ashland police asked the Boone County Sheriff's Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol to help in the pursuit, he said.

The driver, Wesley Entz, 23, pulled over at Discovery Parkway and was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated in addition to careless and imprudent driving, Consiglio said.
