LETTER: Skala, Wade provide leadership with support for Comprehensive Plan

Monday, January 18, 2010 | 10:20 a.m. CST

As an appointee to the Comprehensive Plan Task Force, I would like to thank Karl Skala and Jerry Wade for their support of a new Comprehensive Plan to guide growth within the city of Columbia.

As former members of the Columbia Planning and Zoning Commission, they recognized the need for the city to undertake growth management planning. The Metro 2020 Planning Guide is out of date and badly in need of replacement. The Comprehensive Plan Task Force, in cooperation with the Planning and Zoning Commission, is beginning an 18-month revision process that would never have happened without the support of these two informed and committed members of the City Council.
