COLUMBIA – The Big 12 Conference named senior All-American Sarah Shire the Big 12 Gymnast of the Week. This is the seventh time Shire has earned the weekly conference award in her collegiate career.
Shire led Missouri (4-0) to a 195.625 win over then No. 14 Kentucky, No. 16 LSU and Arizona State at the Lady Luck Invitational in Las Vegas. She tied for the bars (9.950) and beam (9.900) titles. She finished second in the all-around (39.400). Shire’s 9.950 on bars set a new career high and tied the Missouri record for the highest all-time score on the event.
The No. 13 Tigers will be in action Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the Hearnes Center for the sixth annual Pink Out meet against Iowa State.
