Boone County delays road work

Thursday, January 21, 2010 | 5:57 p.m. CST

COLUMBIA — Wet weather on Thursday has caused the Boone County Public Works Department to cancel construction projects on parts of Pinehurst Lane and Aspen Circle and at the McBaine bridge.

The work, which would have required some drivers to take detours, probably will not happen until next week, construction inspector Darin Sapp said.

The Pinehurst-Aspen project involves the replacement of a crossroad pipe. Crews also want to stripe the McBaine bridge but must wait for dry weather.
