Missouri deer harvest totaled nearly 300,000

JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri hunters killed the fourth-highest number of deer during the past season.

The 2009-10 deer season closed Jan. 15 with the end of archery hunting.

The Missouri Department of Conservation said hunters reported killing 299,451 deer.

The recently concluded deer season included 42 days of firearms hunting and 112 days of archery hunting.
