Annette Simpson, bottom center, teaches a water aerobics class at the Activity and Recreation Center in Columbia Monday morning. The class offers a low-impact form of exercise that is ideal for people with joint problems, she said. "It's an all-around good workout." Simpson said her classes are larger now, due to many people making New Year's resolutions to work out more. "It starts big at the beginning of the year, but they start weeding out," she said.

Water aerobics classes, such as the one offered Monday morning at the Columbia Activity and Recreation Center, provide aerobic exercise that is easy on joints.
