UPDATE: 2 women die in Moberly house fire

MOBERLY— The Missouri fire marshal's office is investigating a kitchen fire in Moberly that killed two women.

Interim Chief Robert Creed says the fire was reported about 1:50 a.m. Thursday.

The victims' names have not been released but one was 56 years old and the other was 18. A 26-year-old man survived the fire with minor injuries but could not rescue the two women.

Fire officials say the house was destroyed. The investigation continues.
