Missouri wrestling team defeats Nebraska

The MU wrestling team won its Big 12 opener Friday night against Nebraska 22-16 in Lincoln, Neb.

The Tigers (7-4, 1-0) won six of the ten matches against the Huskers (8-8, 0-1). Missouri senior Max Askren defeated opponent Josh Ihnen with a 13-7 decision and Missouri senior Nicholas Marable earned a 14-5 major decision against Nebraska's James Nakashima.

Missouri's next match is at 7 p.m. on Feb. 6 against Oklahoma at the Hearnes Center.
