CLAYTON — A 24-year-old St. Louis County man has been charged with assaulting his infant child.

St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCulloch on Wednesday charged Emmett Norris of Florissant with first-degree assault and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say he was charged with inflicting internal injuries and multiple fractures to his 7-week-old child.

Norris was arrested at a hospital where the child is being treated.

He is being held on a $100,000 cash bond. Court records show he does not yet have legal representation.
