Columbia College women's basketball team drops first AMC game

The Columbia College women's basketball team shot just 31 percent and lost 76-59 on Thursday at McKendree. The Cougars, ranked No. 10 in the latest NAIA poll entering the game, fall to 10-1 in the American Midwest Conference and 22-3 overall.

Columbia College, which trailed 36-27 at halftime and shot just 1-for-11 from 3-point range in the game, was led by Denise Rosario's 25 points. Rachel Oswald had 17 points and 16 rebounds, and Veronica Smith had 10 points and seven rebounds.

McKendree (19-5, 9-2), ranked No. 16 entering the game, scored 16 points off 17 Cougars turnovers.
