Columbia College men's basketball team loses at McKendree

The Columbia College men's basketball team lost 71-41 on Thursday at McKendree to fall to 9-17 overall and 3-7 in the American Midwest Conference.

The Bearcats, No. 7 in the NAIA at 20-5 and 9-0 in the AMC, led 32-18 at halftime then shot 48 percent in the second half, while the Cougars played the first five minutes of the second period before scoring a field goal.

Greg Stegeman led Columbia College with 10 points and 10 rebounds, and Josh Davis also scored 10.

Columbia College plays next at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday when they host Hannibal-LaGrange at the Arena of Southwell Complex. The Cougars defeated the Trojans 53-52 in their first meeting of the season on Jan. 19.
