ESPN anchor John Anderson to host Columbia golf tournament

COLUMBIA – John Anderson, a host on ESPN's "SportsCenter" is set to host his First Annual John Anderson Celebrity Golf Invitational on June 28th at the Country Club of Missouri.

Anderson is a 1987 graduate of the MU School of Journalism.

The tournament will benefit the Anderson Family Charitable Foundation and will be put on by Midwest Computech. His foundation was formed in 2009 to help improve the lives of children and their families through the support of the public school system.

A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to the "Buddy Pack" program at The Food Bank (formerly the Central Missouri Food Bank.)

According to a release from the foundation, participants have not been chosen, but will be drawn from college and professional athletics, the media and other well-recognized professions.
