The Hickman girls basketball team lost 38-21 on Thursday at St. Teresa's in Kansas City to fall to 11-14 this season. Claire Ortbals led the Kewpies with nine points.

"It was just a case where we couldn't buy a basket," Hickman coach Tonya Mirts said. "It wasn't for a lack of trying, though."

Hickman begins district tournament play on Tuesday against host Troy.
