Missouri finished the Collegiate Cactus Classic with a 2-1 extra-inning win over New Mexico State on Sunday in Tucson, Ariz. The Tigers scored the game-winning run without a hit in the bottom of the 10th inning.
Freshmen Dane Opel and Kale Gaden each drew a walk to open the bottom of the 10th inning. After two outs were recorded, freshman Brannon Champagne walked to load the bases and sophomore Conner Mach was hit by a pitch to drive in the game-winning run.
The Tigers have a 2-1 record after the opening weekend of play.
Next weekend, the Tigers will play in the Auburn Invitational in Auburn, Ala, beginning at 2 p.m. Friday against Florida Atlantic.
