KANSAS CITY — Kansas City police officers shot and killed a woman who they said was driving toward them as they stood outside their vehicles.

Police spokesman Capt. Rich Lockhart said officers began pursuing the woman Tuesday night after her vehicle nearly hit a police car.

The driver, in her 20s, refused to stop and took off, eventually stopping at a dead-end street.

Lockhart said when officers got out of their cars, the woman turned around and began driving toward them. Four officers shot and killed the woman.

The woman was the only person in the vehicle. None of the officers were injured.
