ST. LOUIS Gov. Jay Nixon made his way to St. Louis County on Thursday to launch a new jobs program for young people called the State Parks Youth Corps program.

Nixon's announcement was set for Thursday morning at Babler State Park in Wildwood.

The program will provide summer employment for young Missourians. Nixon said it will also help the state's 85 state parks and historic sites.

Nixon plans to make a similar announcement on Friday at Watkins Woolen Mill State Park and historic site in Clay County.
