Missouri softball team defeats No. 4 Michigan in extra innings

The Missouri (4-2) softball team defeated Michigan(6-3) 2-1 in eight innings at NFCA Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Ga.

Michigan and Missouri, ranked No. 4 and No. 5 respectively in the ESPN/ USA softball going into the game. Missouri got a solid performance from Chelsea Thomas who pitched all eight eight innings and stuck out 11 batters in the victory.

Missouri will play another game tonight at 5:30 against Virginia Tech.
