Stephens women's basketball ends season

The Stephens women's basketball team ended its season with a 64-52 loss at William Woods on Wednesday night in Fulton in the quarterfinals of the American Midwest Conference Tournament.

Tia LaFavor's 16 points led the Stars, who finished the season at 9-20. The senior center's point total was enough to give her exactly 1,000 points for her career.

Stephen's Jessica McConnell added 10 points, and Bee McLaughlin had 10 rebounds. Jestine Gerber scored 15 to lead William Woods (27-2), which led 36-16 at halftime.
