Presidential historian to speak at Columbia College

COLUMBIA — Michael Beschloss, the Emmy award-winning presidential historian and author of “Presidential Courage: Brave Leaders and How They Changed America, 1789-1989,” will give a lecture at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Launer Auditorium on the Columbia College campus.

The lecture, titled "The Ethics of Presidents At War," is free and open to the public.

Beschloss has appeared on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart" and is a regular commentator on PBS' "The News Hour With Jim Lehrer."

The Campus Life office in Atkins-Holman Student Commons has 150 tickets on reserve for students. Reserved seating requires the ticket holder be in their seat by 7 p.m.

Remaining tickets for the event will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
