Jerry Wade, 69, has served as Columbia's Fourth Ward City Councilman
since 2007. Prior to that he served 12 years on Columbia Planning and
Zoning Commission — six of those as chairman. Wade is retired from a long career
with MU Extension, where he worked as a community development
specialist. He has a bachelor's degree in sociology, a master's degree in community development and a doctorate in rural sociology, both from MU. Wade is married to Edge Wade and
they have one daughter. Wade wants to bring new jobs to Columbia,
promote job training in the community and improve public safety.
