LETTER: Read is right for City Council

We urge residents of the Fourth Ward to vote for Sarah Read for the City Council position in this ward. We have been friends of Sarah for more than 15 years, and we are impressed by her intelligence, thoughtfulness, energy and friendliness. Her background as a lawyer, especially in energy, and also in mediation; her establishment of a small business (the Columbia Communications Center); her work with the city on its visioning process; and her volunteer work with schools (she founded the local chapter of Parents for Public Schools) will provide an excellent background for her duties on City Council. Sarah is a good listener who will carefully consider a variety of constituent views on issues before making informed decisions.
