Columbia Police offer burglary prevention tips

Columbia Police are offering tips to protect homes and belongings from burglary over spring break. There were 21 burglaries of student residences on Christmas Eve last year.

COLUMBIA — Police released tips residents can follow to deter burglary over spring break.

Residents are encouraged to put lights on timers and ask a neighbor to watch their home and pick up mail, the release said.
