SPRINGFIELD — A 26-year-old Springfield man is accused of setting a house fire that killed his fiancee's three children and seriously injured their grandfather.

David Williams was charged Wednesday in Greene County with first-degree arson resulting in injury or death. He was being held on $250,000 bond.

The fire early Monday killed 7-year-old Alexis Watson, 5-year-old Kelsey Watson and 4-year-old Devin Watson. The children's grandfather remained in critical condition Wednesday at a hospital.

Williams was arrested Tuesday afternoon. It was not immediately clear if he had a lawyer.

If in fact he did do it, then he doesn't deserve a fair trial. I think it calls for the death penalty.
