Canoeing in the snow: The 2010 Perche Creek Gutbuster race

Competitors and enthusiasts gathered on Saturday morning for the Perche Creek Gutbuster, a race that took canoes and kayaks up 10 miles of the creek and back. The race went on even with a steady afternoon snowfall.

The Perche Creek Gutbuster, a canoe and kayak race, brought out water sport enthusiasts from around the Midwest – even in the snow. Bryan Hopkins finished the race with the fastest overall time. The race took canoes and kayaks up 10 miles of the Perche Creek and back.

Brenden and Jason were terrific! They really toughed it out in absolutely miserable conditions to bring this to everyone. It was way too cold for the first day of spring and way too windy. Both of you deserve kudos!!
