COLUMBIA — A woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting two sweaters and a pair of sunglasses from Macy's at 5 p.m. Friday.

According to an e-mail from Public Information Officer Jessie Haden, Macy's security watched Joyce Herron, 55, go into a dressing room with jackets and a pair of sunglasses. She came out and picked up other clothing, then went back in. When Herron came back out she had the sunglasses and sweaters concealed in a shopping bag. The items together were priced at about $240.

Herron is a Columbia postal worker and the postal co-chair of the Executive Central Missouri Postal Customer Council.

She was released on signature bond, which requires the defendant to sign a promise to return to court for trial.
