ST. LOUIS — As St. Louis police mourn the loss of officer David Haynes, the burglary suspect who was being chased by the officer has been arrested.

The 27-year-old newlywed officer died Wednesday during that chase when his patrol car was struck twice at an intersection. Police said Haynes had his siren and lights on.

Three other people were hurt in the accident, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The burglary suspect got away during the chase but was arrested late Wednesday. Police have not released his identity.
